Thengai Podi


Ingredients:
  • Coconut Oil - 2 tsp
  • Channa Dhal - 3 tsp
  • Urud dhal - 3 tsp
  • Red Chilli - 10
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tsp
  • Hing - 1 tsp
  • Jaggery - 1/4 tsp (optional )
 

Method:
  1. Fry the channa dhal, urud dhal, red chilli, hing, sesame seeds and keep these ingredients aside.
  2. Then shred the coconuts, and fry them well (i.e.) till they turn golden brown color.
  3. Then grind the fried ingredients with jaggery(Optional), and blend them into powder form. 
  4. Then add the fried coconut along with the ground powder and again grind them.
  5. That's it coconut podi is ready to go.

Hey, that looks wonderful and loving the podi. I will save it for later. Do you think, we can have it simply with rice or is it just to be used as a masala podi for curries and stuff?

Here as you asked you can use this podi with rice, for curries and as side dishes for dosa. It can be used in any form...
