Veggie Pizza


Ingredients:

   Pizza Base Dough:
  •  All Purpose flour (Plain flour or Maida) - 2 cups
  •  Lukewarm water - 1 cup
  •  Dry active yeast - 1 tbsp
  •  Olive oil - 3 tbsp
  •  Salt -  1 tsp
  •  Sugar - 1/2 tsp
   Topping Sauce:
  • Olive oil - 2 tbsp
  • Maida - 2 1/2 tbsp
  • Milk - 3/4 cup
  • Salt - 1 tsp
  • Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • Shredded cabbage - 1 cup
  • Finely shredded carrots - 1 cup 
  • Onion - 1 cup
  • Olives - 1 cup
  • Red bell pepper - 1 cup
  • Chopped cilantro / coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
  • Green chilies -1
Method:

Step 1 - How to prepare the pizza base dough:

   1. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water and let it sit for about 20 minutes or until the yeast becomes frothy.
   2. Add sugar, salt and oil to the flour and mix well.
   3. Add the yeast water and make into a dough. The dough should be soft and a little sticky. Add more water if needed.
   4. Cover the dough and let it sit for about 3 to 4  hours. The dough will be double the volume after 4 hrs.
   5. Knead the dough well using a little dry flour that will make the dough softer.

Step 2 - Topping:

   1. Heat the oil in a heavy bottomed pan in low-medium heat.
   2. Add the flour and cook until the flour changes into a light brown color.
   3. Slowly add the milk, and stir it now and then. 
   4. Cook slowly until it is smooth and thick. Add the salt and black pepper and mix well.
   5. Mix the cabbage, carrots, onion, olives, bell pepper, cilantro, and green chilies with the topping sauce.


Pizza:
  1.  You can do this recipe using Conventional / Electric Oven.
  2.  Pre-heat the oven to 500 degrees, and place the pizza plate / stone inside the oven to heat it
  3.  Divide the dough in to two equal parts and roll it like chapathi and make it into big circular disc.
  4.  Place over greased sheets. Put about a half teaspoon of olive oil over the pizza and evenly spread the Topping mixture onto the pizza.
  5.  Slide the greased sheet on the pizza pan and let it cook for about five to six minutes.
  6.  To make a crispy pizza crust, remove the pizza from the greased pan and place over the pizza crisper plate.
  7.  Let it cook for about 7 minutes, or until the edges are golden-brown.
  8. Thus yuumy Pizza is ready and enjoy its delight.
